Education For Future
non profit organization
Current Project "Building Elementary School in Uganda"
Our current project is a primary school in Uganda, near the town of Masaka that will accommodate classrooms for 360 children with support office, kitchen, bathrooms, library/commons space and student dormitory. We have just completed our Phase I goal of raising funds to buy the land. We are now fundraising for our Phase II goal of constructing four classrooms, bathroom facilities and office space. Future phases will include a student dormitory, kitchen, a library/commons space, additional infrastructure such as water wells, solar panels, internet as well as initiatives such as school lunch programs and teacher training. Our group of architects and designers are working on creating a sustainable design which can serve as a prototype for additional schools in third world countries. We are donating our design and architectural services. Our local partners in Uganda are currently obtaining the permits for school operation. We will propose a sustainable school program and provide resources for the students to farm and sell produce from the school land to generate income to sustain their own education. The program will introduce and engage global educational practices and foster collaboration with international English speaking teachers, raising awareness of the importance of education and providing access to critical resources such as libraries. The leaders in the community will oversee the construction and management of the school. All funds raised by our organization will go directly towards the project. After completion of the school construction we will continue to work on helping with school operation costs and raising funds for teacher salaries and student scholarships. We will monitor the success of the school and will keep all donors updated on the progress. When the project is fully completed and operates as designed we will transfer the operation to the community for their ownership and leadership. We will involve the local community, parents and children throughout entire process of the project for their engagement, commitment and ownership to insure the continual success of our collaborative efforts.
